Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeper Strategy

The Housing, Homelessness & Rough Sleeper Strategy sets out Thanet District Council’s framework for addressing the district's housing challenges.

With the ongoing national housing crisis, the council remains committed to addressing affordability, supporting an aging population, reducing and preventing homelessness, and ensuring safe, sustainable homes for all residents across all types of tenancies.

After a significant review between September 2025 and March 2026, the strategy has been revised to ensure it aligns with the latest government guidance and meets the needs of local residents.

Local residents and interested stakeholders are invited to share feedback on the format, clarity, aims and objectives of the document. Once the consultation has closed all feedback will be reviewed by council officers before being presented to Cabinet and Full Council for adoption later in 2026.
