Air Quality Strategy

Thanet District Council's draft Air Quality Strategy has been developed to help protect and improve local air quality and public health. It outlines the current air quality in our district, the reasons for improvement and our proposed plans to make a difference.

It aims to keep air pollution within national targets whilst acknowledging the challenges faced by local authorities.

We're now inviting people who live, work or own a business in Thanet, as well as our partners, to share their views on the draft strategy. The feedback received will be reviewed to ensure that the strategy is practical and effective.

You can read the draft strategy here. The survey will be open from Monday 12 January 2026 for six weeks.

You can find information on air quality on the council’s website. You can also sign up for updates on the KentAir website.

You're viewing real-time data. Participant counts are continuously updated for administrators. Please note that regular users see cached data, which may result in slight differences in the numbers.

2 September 2024 23:00 - 12 January 2026 00:00

During this phase, we developed an Air Quality Action Plan in partnership with external consultants Air Quality Consultants (AQC).

A decision was made to develop a draft Air Quality Strategy, using the Action Plan as a basis.
