Ramsgreat

Your Voice Thanet Admin•4 years ago Crafting a visual identity for Ramsgate around this famous local artwork - and its happily adopted nickname of Ramsgreat - declares a vivid and memorable personality for Ramsgate – marking it out as utterly unique against our neighbouring towns.It represents our grass-roots nature, our inherently cheeky attitude and the potential for Ramsgate to be as great as each of us choose it to be.The logo, stamped firmly in the colours of Pugin, represents our core values in several ways. The artist’s own mission is to create generously positive statements around Ramsgate that do nothing more than start conversations and raise a smile. He cares deeply about the town and wants to share that passion with whoever sees his work. And this is a courageous statement; boldly saying that we are as a place where greatness can thrive. The door is open, both as an invitation to come on in, and as an arrow towards an elevated future.

Ramsgate Raven's Route

Your Voice Thanet Admin•4 years ago The raven has long held a place in Ramsgate’s heart. From Pugin to the Ravensgate Arms, this symbol of magic seems to have watched over the town forever... and we hear the ravens are now on their way back!In this logo, we see the raven right in the middle of the R – a strong and grounding presence, full of symbolism, history and such a part of our name. But the raven reflects more than that for Ramsgate; they are an unusually generous type of bird, willing to share their food and resources.And, if you tilt your head slightly, a new image appears of another very beautiful side of Ramsgate where the water and the land stretch out in the warmth of the sun, echoing the undulating lines of Ramsgate’s nature and architecture, and reminding us how lucky we are to live in this special town by the sea.

The Ramsgate Way

Your Voice Thanet Admin•4 years ago The Ramsgate Way of life; the way we use the town, the different ways in which it comes to life for different people, are represented within this logo. Created from a variety of shapes with dual meanings, this image incorporates the huge breadth of Ramsgate’s personality and heritage that people love so much.What can you see hidden within the R? Do you see the sea, the sun and a ship’s sail? Or do you see the orange brick archways that stand along the harbour’s edge? Perhaps you see some of the town’s wonderful architecture; the doorways, the windows, the clock faces, the church steeple? Or maybe you see the circle of a close-knit, caring community and the triangle that represents the three ‘H’ aspects of the town? Depending on who you are, and what you want from Ramsgate, it’s all waiting within this logo.

Your Voice Thanet Admin•2 years ago Concerning parking and attracting visitors to Thanet seaside area to help bring much needed tourist to help with local economy there are many large car parks which seem to be unused which could be transformed into great stopovers not all motor home users are bad but given encouraging places to stay over at reasonable prices I would like to think it could work let local councils run them similar to what they do abroad. Encourage people to come not push them away Many thanks

We value resident feedback and engagement.
