The land , ex railway line, between Highfield Road and Jackey Bakers is full of wildlife, foxes, rabbits, squirrels,

From "Thanet Biodiversity Strategy"

Go to the project

This land has become a haven for wildlife. Foxes, rabbits, squirrels, bats, wild flowers full of butterflies, many different species of birds including sparrow hawks. We have watched it grow for the last 48 years. The council now wants to destroy it all and build a few houses with a small patch of saplings that will not be watered or cared for, There will be NOTHING for the wildlife. There are thousands of houses being built up the road, leave something for our wildlife, please.
