Resident's parking
From "Parking in Thanet"
Go to the project
For residents of Thanet, parking should be free. If I pay a visit to another area of the country, I expect to pay for parking.

I pay for a permit which makes me cross for 2 reasons. Unfair that, I have to pay to park outside my own house and 2 people that don't have a permit still park there all day. Not seen a traffic warden for months.. They put a parking meter in that never works but then it's to expensive so people still won't pay . Why should thanet council care as they get money from permits. Iv sent emails to thanet council never get a reply

Denise. Of course it is practical if you put your mind to it. We already pay rates to live here which means we have already paid to park here. Yet, effectively, we are being forced to pay again! Parking fees would then apply to visitors only. If I chose to visit the midlands, then I would naturally expect to pay their fees.

I don't think it is practical to have free parking for Thanet residence. However on street free parking for a stated period as applies in some areas at the moment should be looked into and expanded.
