Resident permits

From "Parking in Thanet"

Go to the project

Residents should be allowed to buy permits for their street as in W London. Trinity Square (the road) is mostly taken by non residents of that road.

I'm interested to hear if anyone has taken their views to their ward councillor?

Cannon Road in Ramsgate is an excellent candidate for residents’ parking. At the moment, residents can buy discounted season tickets for the Cannon Road car park but if they park on the road, the second they leave, visitors dive into the vacated space rather than pay to use the car park. If the road was for residential permits only, all visitors would have to use the car park. I do think car parks should not be as expensive as they are, as it encourages people to find parking on the streets.
The whole of Ramsgate East and West Cliff is crying out for residents parking. Finding a space near home on the East Cliff is always a challenge but since The Granville Cinema has reopened it has become almost impossible. As I write this there is an event on at the cinema; the neighbourhood is littered with extra cars, parked in the most ridiculous places. Aside from the inconvenience it is also unsafe as a fire engine would be unable to pass.
Parking restrictions should be taken away in Addington street & permit offered to king street residents as new housing is being built & not enough parking at it is even worse when flats completed
