No shared pavement use
From "Thanet Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan"
Go to the project
Pavements shared between cyclists/ skateboarder, e-scooters, scooters and pedestrians whether by allocation or by use are incredibly dangerous. I have been nearly hit a number of times by cyclists. I have been hit from behind by a skateboarder and e-scooters come frighteningly close. For most healthy adults, a normal walking speed is about 3 miles per hour (mph), which equals roughly 4.8 kilometers per hour. Anyone travelling or is capable travelling faster than 5 mph should use the road or a designated lane. We cannot as pedestrians be expected to wear a helmet or body armour when out walking.

When used properly, the shared spaces work incredibly well. Until a dedicated cycle lane is built, it's incredibly dangerous for cyclists— which includes children who cycle to and from school—to use the road. Better awareness by all parties on how to use the shared pavements (such as dismounting when it's busy, but also being aware of surroundings as a pedestrian) would be good. Ultimately a better cycle path would be great.

I agree, the above are extreemly dangerous and should be heavily restricted
