First half hour free if you need to part for 1 hour 50p

If you want the shops to carry on trading we need your support for this I believe first half hour free and a 1 hour charge of 50p if you wish to stay longer would help us to carry this on,Every year is getting harder to carry on and if parking charges keep going up in the thanet towns shops will disappear more and more.Also Birchington is a village surely this should not be comparable to the 3 main towns in Thanet with the parking charges.

I certainly think that there could be one rate of charges for local residents and another for all visitors. We could be issued with some sort of card or disc to use or display..

@Jon Jenkins trouble is a scheme run by TDC - administrative costs would be expensive easier way switch off parking meters FREE parking weekends as they do in many towns in Essex. Give local businesses a chance to compete.

I've been a shop owner for nearly 20 years in Birchington. I've noticed change since our parking has gone up.. As shop owners we try to promote shop local in Birchington free parking would be amazing for half hour and £1 for 1 hour.. Also having free parking after 6pm and free at weekends
