Cycle lane segregation and improvements. Pedestrianisation of town centres.

From "Thanet Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan"

Go to the project

Cycle lanes shout e segregated from cars and also not on pavement as shared use. e.g Margate seafront shared use is full of pedestrians especially at busy times. Taking the carriageway away for cycle lanes in the road will encourage people to cycle for commuting and leisure.

More cycle parking in the tourist town centres.

Broadstairs al ion street should be pedestrians/cyclist only especially at the weekends. Albion street gets blocked with traffic trying to negotiate the road. This would also encourage a cafe type culture, improve the economy of the area and reduce pollution.
